Juniper Rosen (Dolly) - Juniper also known as 'Dolly' or 'Juni' is an aloof and skittish girl. Frequently having to be retrieved from behind a tree, under some rubble, or simply scrunched up under the bed. Juniper often feels like she is in danger, or as though she needs to always be ready to run somewhere at any given notice. Despite her constant running and implied affliction for self preservation, it is unclear if Juniper really is afraid deep down of something happening to her. Frequently spotted searching for bears in the forest.. hiding Godfrey's sardines in her pockets and dabbing berry juice on her lips and cheeks. Godfrey thinks she likes the chase and the danger of it, but Juniper feels like a hunted deer in Godfrey's home. She has had the hardest time with growing trust towards the Doctor-- so he puts extra time and care when handling Juniper due to these reactions. During the day, Juniper enjoys going by the river and the ponds, she likes to listen to the birds chirp and to feel the grass between her finger tips. It wouldn't be surprising if juniper just wanted to feel the final relaxation of being one with the dirt in which she loves so much beneath her. Juniper has a fascination with instruments and sounds; she is frequently hitting other objects together or dropping them to see what sound expels from the material. It is suggested that Juniper suffers from post traumatic stress disorder, and selective mutism; due to her consistent failure to speak in specific social situations where speaking is expected, despite speaking in other situations. Juniper is close with Odette, Greta, and Agnes.
fact - likes small places, frilly clothing, ribbons, and sitting by the water. adores music and has been teaching herself piano and the violin which resides in Godfrey's study. she is not very good at the violin, but everyone says her piano skills are exquisite. dislikes abrupt movements, loud sounds, and bright lights.

Odette Rosen (Baby) - Odette, also known as 'Baby' is an opulent girl and a hopeless romantic. Branded by Godfrey as baby or baby-face, she is a bit of a sloth-like creature. Frequently spending long periods lounging throughout the cabin, writing an exuberant amount of short stories and small strings of beautiful words. Being comparable to a swan, baby has a thirst for eternal love, knowledge and experiencing all that life has to offer. She unfortunately experiences memory loss, and feels the need to write down many of her thoughts, or capture things she sees with a camera gifted to her by Liette. Odette gets defensive when people bring up her condition or treat her slightly in a way she doesn't appreciate such as being overly delicate, which results in people being pushed away. But she has always had a good relationship with Liette, and Godfrey has always been unsure to why she has such a strong liking to Liette.
In Odette's journals, she writes things about people that can come across as morbid or disgusting, but there has only been positive and beautiful things written about Liette from the start. Odette and Godfrey spend sunday mornings praying together, and then her and liette proceed to make a late breakfast for everyone. Odette talks to Godfrey about death frequently, he writes down all of her thoughts about it. She is not afraid of dying, and thinks of living as just a waiting room until Heaven. Whilst Godfrey does not agree with her idea of the afterlife, he is also not afraid of death. Odette is close with Juniper, Greta, and Agnes.
Odette has an avoidant personality, along with suffering from bouts of depression and derealization, feeling estrangement from herself, the external world, or observing herself from outside of her own body.

Greta Rosen (Sugar) - Greta also known as (Sugar) has a slow to warm personality, but hides it quite well. She treats everyone she meets with extreme kindness and warmth, even if she does not trust them or feel comfortable with them yet. Atticus has said she is 'as sweet as sugar', to which Godfrey decided to nickname her Sugar. She seems outwardly and superficially mature, often trying to act like but also being treated as a sort of older sister to the other girls, sometimes even to Liette and Atticus. Often being referred to as an old soul by many of the people around her, even Godfrey. Despite this, greta is quite developmentally stunted, which is one of the issues that the Doctor is trying to further investigate and improve. Greta is highly composed, and rarely has emotional outbursts, tantrums or melt downs like the others. She loves to read, or write short stories in Godfrey's library. Since greta was a small girl she would read through the books in the Doctors library regarding the Art of Ballet and the animal kingdom. She has spent many hours begging Godfrey to allow her to have 'ballerina lessons'. She spends time twirling in the Doctors study in her leotard and long johns.
Greta gets very attached to her 'family' which includes the other princesses, Liette, Atticus, and Godfrey. Her extremely high levels of devotion and loyalty provides hints of her slight immaturity, as it sometimes even spreads to inanimate objects. She suffers from dissociative identity disorder, which can result from severe trauma and involves a disconnection from reality and identity, impacting one's self-perception and esteem. Greta is close with Juniper, Odette, and Agnes.
fact - likes ballet, candle-lit libraries, being strapped to an examination chair, playing chess and checkers with Juniper, wearing yukata and pretty dresses, brushing hair. enjoys looking at vintage adult magazines, and playing coy. dislikes having no stimulation, messy rooms, and sitting still for long periods of time.

Agnes Rosen (Vanity) - Agnes, also known as 'Aggy' or 'Vanity' sees herself as a sort of withered or dampened flower, or a fallen hare shot by an arrow. Agnes has a habit of doing things she is not supposed to with the intention of getting attention, no matter if the attention is negative. Godfrey felt puzzlement with Agnes, wondering how a girl as kind as her can feel possessed to do such things. She feels strongly about the act of washing away sins, and getting dirty to be clean. Roaming the forest for any living creature that will pay her any mind. Agnes is a beautiful girl, and finds her beauty to be an important facet of whom she is.. not knowing that people love her for other reasons. Not only is the beauty of herself important but also the beauty of everything around her, her space and even what she puts inside of her body. Despite her love of beautiful things and her pursuit of ultimate beauty of herself, inside her journal- vanity depicts herself as something strange, and gets images of horrible things happening to herself and the ones she loves. These images have been happening to her since she was very young, and Godfrey has been keeping watch to monitor the visions and see if there are any patterns or possible triggers. In part due to Agnes' mental conditions.. she sometimes has trouble keeping on good terms with the people around her but, her love for them never trembles or budges. Agnes exhibits behaviours such as seeking attention and having intense, unstable relationships. The feeling of being "possessed" to do certain things, coupled with the strong emotions and fluctuating self-image. She suffers with disordered eating and body image, stemming from an attempt to gain control over her body and life. Agnes is close with Greta, Odette, and Juniper.
fact - likes being wanted, adored, worshipped. enjoys long baths and washing her hair with the window open at night to let fresh air in. spends time writing about horrible things happening to her as a form of repentance. dislikes feeling lonely, daily inspection, loud chewing and sloppy eating.

Godfrey Rosen - Godfrey also known as (Doctor) is very antisocial and isolated, only being acquaintances with Liette and Atticus whom also live in the forest along side him. Godfrey was the only child to his two parents, but was primarily only raised by his mother. Godfrey loved to read and write, however he was unable to pursue that in order to support and make his mother proud as he was the only man of the household. Throughout school, Godfrey began to love the medical field and decided to pursue it fully, along with devoting his life to his research. He was enjoying his studies at medical school until his life got uprooted in his home country, and he was enlisted into the war. He never ended up completing his formal medical training at University. However; the Doctor successfully finished his army training, and stayed as a soldier for a brief eight months. Despite the fact he saw many horrific things, he did not kill a single soul, but the pain from what he witnessed changed his mind forever. Eventually, he decided to flee and due to those actions, he now has a military arrest warrant.
He has lived hidden away in the forest for over 20 years, rarely speaking to anyone other than Atticus, Liette, and a few others over the years who have come and gone. Godfrey has a strange paternal relationship with patients (also known as the princesses) in which he houses. Before Agnes, Greta, Juniper and Odette; there were a handful of previous subjects that Godfrey was 'treating'.. but unfortunately have passed long ago. With age, Godfrey has softened and his biggest rule has come to face him. He has grown attached to these four girls, and now his studies and research integrity are at risk.
fact - likes taxidermy, rubber gloves, gas masks, the outdoors, unconventional practices, and teeth. in Godfrey's workspace, there are a small assortment of skulls from animals used for food, or experiments. dislikes mess, disorder, loud sounds, and Juniper's crying.
